Created exclusively for Crown & Compass to celebrate the opening of their new boutique in Saudi Arabia, this Sartory-Billard edition is a tribute to a land of quiet contrasts — vast horizons, warm sands, and the rare, delicate colors that rise from the desert after rain.

It is a watch born from place and moment: serene in its presence, yet alive with shifting light.

Numerals with Cultural Resonance

Framing the guilloché center, Indian-Arabic numerals bring clarity and meaning. Each numeral is brushed, then subtly elevated by a polished central ring, creating a gentle contrast against the luminous complexity of the dial.

The result is a composition that feels balanced and intentional: refined legibility combined with quiet cultural depth.

The Dial, Alive with Light

At the heart of this collaboration lies a dial entirely guilloché in-house at Horocraft, Sartory-Billard’s Swiss atelier devoted to artistic dial-making. The motif radiates outward with hypnotic symmetry, catching light in an ever-moving geometry that feels both contemporary and rooted in tradition.

A rare dichroic color treatment by Positive Coating brings the dial to life: it drifts between sky-blue and lavender depending on the angle and the hour. Blue like the Saudi horizon at dusk; lavender like the fleeting desert blooms that appear after rainfall. This is not a fixed color, but a living one — changing softly with every tilt of the wrist.

Hands in Pure Metal

In keeping with the calm, mineral character of the piece, the hands are free of lume. Instead, they rely on finishes and proportions: brushed planes with polished edges that mirror the duality of the dial — softness and precision, light and shadow.

They do not compete with the guilloché; they glide over it.

Form around your wrist

To complete the watch, Sartory-Billard worked with Delugs to develop a suede leather strap in sand tones. Its warm texture echoes the desert landscape and complements the dial’s shifting sky-to-lavender palette.

Delugs is also represented at Crown & Compass, making this detail more than aesthetic — it reinforces the coherence of the collaboration from dial to wrist.
